Is dog poop good for grass?
No. Dog waste is not a lawn fertilizer. Leaving it on the ground can add nutrients and bacteria to runoff when rain moves across the yard. Scoop it, bag it and dispose of it properly.
Does it matter if the yard is fenced?
Yes. Children and dogs still use that grass. Dog waste can carry roundworm eggs; the CDC recommends promptly cleaning pet living areas and washing hands after handling waste.

How often should I scoop?
The CDC recommends daily pickup for parasite prevention. If your schedule gets away from you, a recurring cleanup visit can help, especially before lawn play, gardening or company comes over. Pick up between visits, too.
